Sporting events are one of Washington County’s top generators of visitor revenue, and in recent years have generatedmillions of dollars of economic impact to the county. Great sports events don’t happen without great sports event organizers.
The LPGA Safeway Classic at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club is Washington County’s largest and most prestigious sporting event, drawing tens of thousands of spectators and showcasing our region as a premier golf destination- all the while, enhancing the community by generating millions for local charities.
The 2011 Tourism Industry Award for top “Sporting Event Organizers” was presented to Tournament Golf Foundation in recognition of outstanding contributions to Washington County’s tourism industry, and to acknowledge the great partnership between TGF and the WCVA.
The 2011 edition of the LPGA Safeway Classic will be held August 15th – 21st at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club in North Plains, OR.
